Vitality Works to Break Ground on $7 Million Expansion

Vitality Works broke ground on the planned expansion of its manufacturing plant on July 9. Vitality Works received $7 million in industrial revenue bonds (IRB) from the county and those bonds were administered in February of 2018.

Bernalillo County Otter Investment Comes to Fruition

The ribbon was cut today on the new river otter exhibit at the Albuquerque BioPark. The new exhibit was made possible with $2 million in general obligation bonds put forth by the county commission and approved by voters in 2014.

Newest Behavioral Health Initiative Program Aims to Prevent Youth Homelessness

On May 10 Bernalillo County announced the Behavioral Health Initiative’s latest program - Youth Transitional Living Services. BernCo presented New Day, YDI, Casa Q, and Serenity Mesa with a ‘big check’ for $800,000 to incorporate the program into their operations.

BernCo Commission Takes Action Against Drug Companies

The Bernalillo County Commission has voted to sue pharmaceutical companies that manufacture and distribute addictive prescription opioid pain medications. The lawsuit will seek changes in marketing and prescription practices as well as compensation for increased costs to Bernalillo County taxpayers.

Take A Ride on Us

BernCo and partners announced a new program called Take a Ride On Us where patrons can contact Uber for a safe ride to or from a drinking establishment and the program will pay for the first $10 of the ride.
