BernCo Breaks Ground on Little League Renovation Project

East Mountain Little League will be getting a face-lift before play begins next spring. County Commissioner James E. Smith turned the first shovels of dirt on the project with several members of the little league, Thursday afternoon.

The board commended the East Mountain High School Debate Team for taking third place in the International Public Policy Forum in New York. The team defeated last year’s world champions from Connecticut and finished third overall in the global contest.

New Bernalillo County Commissioner Sworn-in

New Bernalillo County commissioner, James E. Smith was sworn-in Tuesday afternoon to fill the District 5 seat. Commissioner Smith comes to the county from the state legislature where he has been a representative since 2011.
