    Bernalillo County’s Cultural Services Department oversees historical and agricultural treasures within Bernalillo County, as well as more contemporary art and educational programs. 

    The department promotes an ongoing celebration of the arts and markets the county’s cultural resources to a diverse audience.

    Within the Cultural Services Department, Bernalillo County’s award-winning Open Space Program oversees open space properties and improvements, including historic and biological inventories, trails, signage, furnishings, shared use agreements, wildlife habitat restoration, water and land health monitoring protocols, and local agriculture initiatives. The department also creates and hosts dozens of resource-based recreation and environmental education activities and events each year.

    Also within Cultural Services, Bernalillo County’s Public Art Program is home to more than 172 pieces of locally-created public art, placed all around the county.

Presenters are Anita Amstutz, founder of the non-profit, Think Like a Bee, and Mary Jo Picha, BernCo master naturalist.
