SEEDS Public Art Installation on Sept. 9 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center

Join us September 9, 2016 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hispanic Cultural Center for the opening of the SEEDS Community Seed Mural Project, a project of artists from all over the world, including right here with residents at the Youth Services Center.  This event is free.

The SEEDS Mural at the Youth Services Center was the prelude to its garden program, La Cocina Verde. SEEDS, A Collective Voice (http://www.seedsacollectivevoice.org/ ), is a global community mural project aimed at awareness building about issues such as the art and cultural importance of ancient seed preservation, supporting locally grown organic farming, educating others about environmental protections essential to community health, and more.

This three-year project completed 12 murals in total which will display together formally for the first time in an exhibit at the National Hispanic Cultural Center throughout the month of September, 2016.

Thereafter, the SEEDS mural completed by YSC residents will return to its permanent home in the visitation area of the Youth Services Center.
