The Manufactured Homes Department is responsible for locating, identifying, and assessing all manufactured homes in Bernalillo County.

Our department duties include: field checks on building permits; providing customer service for property owners - in English or Spanish - in our offices or by phone, fax, email, or postal mail.

The manufactured home valuation is derived from the market value/NADA Appraisal system approved by the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department’s Property Tax Division. Our main goal is to make sure manufactured homes are being assessed fairly and equitably so that all information is correct before being sent to the Treasurer’s Office for tax collection.
Our department also works on protests filed by homeowners that do not agree with their property's notice of value.

How to report your Manufactured Home to the Office of the Assessor

On January 1 of each year manufactured homes are subject to valuation for property taxation purposes. Owners must file a rendition report, which helps the Assessor’s Office ensure that the information concerning a manufacture home is accurate.

All steps need to be completed by the last day of December otherwise a new Tax Release Request will need to be obtain and all taxes will need to be paid for the following year in advance. The Manufactured Home Department issues Tax Releases Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
