At the Nov. 6, 2019, hearing, the County Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the Anderson Farm Sector Development Plan to the Bernalillo County Commission. The Plan area is located south of Rio Bravo Blvd. SW and east of Coors Blvd. SW and consists of approximately 300 acres. The Sector Plan includes provisions and specific zoning for residential development and open space uses in accordance with the Southwest Area Plan, along with plans for additional open space, roads and trails, and infrastructure on the site.

Cluster Housing Development

The Cluster Housing development component of the plan is for a 149-acre area of land that includes 45 acres of Open Space. The Cluster Housing development consists of a maximum of 450 dwellings at full build-out on the 149 acres; this represents a gross density of 3 dwelling units per acre.

Agricultural Open Space Reserve

The 147 acres of farmland designated to be preserved as Open Space is the largest remaining tract of agricultural land in the South Valley. The County intends to purchase this land representing the largest agricultural property acquisition within its jurisdiction.

Upcoming Bernalillo County Commission Hearing:

The Anderson Farm Sector Development Plan is scheduled to be heard by the Bernalillo County Commission on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at 4:00 P.M. at the Vincent E. Griego Chambers, Concourse Level II, City/County Building, One Civic Plaza, NW.
